amateur lighting tutorial

This diagram may seem pretty simple to a photographer that is used to working with flashes. As I am not one of them and am always looking for techniques as regards lighting, I thought I'd upload tutorial(s) for those who are, as myself, still experimenting with this equipment. Thought it might help people who are at my stage or a bit less familiar with this and are wondering about it.
